I’ve always enjoyed bottlecaps. In a 3/4″ x 3/4″ stamp, the manufacturer needed to produce a clearly-defined brand identity for itself, answering the questions “what’s in the bottle?”  And “will I want another one?”

Coupled with the need to be inexpensively mass-produced and distributed, bottlecaps were, and are, a fun crossroads of art, industry and marketing.

As a kid, my favorite was cap was Carling Black Label. Budweiser’s pretty cool also. Always wanted to paint a bottlecap.
